1/14/2024 0 Comments Street magic trick revealed![]() THink of all the tricks you have stashed in the back of your mind. If someone asked you to do as long a magic show as you could, doing every trick you can, I HOPE you can go one for a few hours. We as true students of the art have more of these tricks then you can ever think to perform. They, I'm pretty sure, realize the coin was just palmned, but I perform it well and by the time they think to glance at the correct hand, it already came out of thier ear. I'll been palming and pulling quarters from MANY peoples ears and they're amazed b/c I fool them everytime. Every magician should also have some simple trticks that are just skill. I have dozens and dozens of good ones and even fewer people are going to watch and remember multiple bad fox monday night specials. Granted none of the stuff I really use was revealed, but even if some of it does get revealed I have more then 1 trick. I drew a crowd fro mthe entire floor b/c of the special. He was still truely amazed and asked for more and more. As one of my roommate failed miserabley at the levitation he asked me to do some of my stuff and LOVED it. Those shows are partially responsible for MY interest in magic and I now pay my way through school doing shows. ![]() You were weren't you? and you knew how at least half of it was done! So what's really accomplised? Some people get some magic satisfaction (albeit not the kind we like them to have), BUT they also get more into magic. The ones who did were GLUED to the screen. First off, let's be honest: not that many people watch a bad fox special in the first place. I know you'll all hate me for this but I figured I'd post what I thought just so others know they aren't alone. Oddly enough I generally don't mind the secrets revealed shows. In my opinion, I don't think camera tricks have any business in a magic television show and this was a big, BIG topic of discussion from David Blaine's first television special. It was nice, however to see them expose Blaine's cheating using camera tricks. Like the Twisting Arm, it's a great "do anytime, anywhere" trick. The Balducci Levitation - Sorry to see this one go, too. Why don't we just pick up a pigeon and do it? Yuck. Tearing the Head Off a Live Dove - Yeah, this is a real practical "street magic" effect. Do Cornelius's Pen Thru Anything instead! Just don't do this near anyone with a pacemaker - you may kill him.Ĭigarette thru Quarter - Okay, that was a good one, but smoking is bad for you anyway. Psychokinetic Match - Chazpro might sell a lot of these things in the next few weeks. The Masked Magician used this incredibly complex (but neat) gizmo with remote controls and such. The Time Machine - This is a great trick, but I ( and most others) do it a completely different way. So what? Who else does this one except geeks and Blaine? I prefer Daley's Last Trick instead!īringing a Dead Fly to Life - Yeah, it was exposed. The Switch - Too convoluted a card trick for "street magic". Well, do it a different way, that's all! Unfortunately, the lay audiences will think of this method and think it's done that way anyway! (That's the real harm in these shows.) The Rising Cards - Another good commercial effect. This, like the Balducci Levitation, is a very good impromptu effect that kills. Shinkoh's Twisting Arm Illusion - I know that some magicians would really like to twist off his arm for showing this one. The Riffle Card Glimpse - Used a method that is easy, but it can be done better with another method. If you can perform this correctly, you shouldn't even worry about it. It's a shame this was exposed, but I don't think anything was lost. The Vanishing Coin - This used a device used by some magicians. The Ashes Trick - A great effect, but this one is already in many magic books and even on this site, Magic & Illusion. ![]() ![]() Here is from the about.magic article for the street magic:Ī List of the Tricks Exposed: (Some I won't explain or go into detail, for obvious reasons.) So there are back to back 'secrets revealed' episodes tonight? One for street magic and one for the ice block? 1/14/2024 0 Comments The sinking city ps5 review![]() ![]() A detective in a place like this probably should carry a gun, and the few times I used it against other humans did feel a little shocking. ![]() But once I’d seen some of the life in Oakmont, I found navigation was somewhat tiresome – although you do quickly unlock fast travel points.Ĭausing more problems is the game’s somewhat perfunctory shooting segments. Thematically, getting around a sinking city by boat is great and navigating by the street maps should be exciting. This was especially true with how painful travelling around the city can be. This, honestly, is probably a decent facsimile of detective work, but lacked the spectacle I wanted to draw me in. Ultimately, a detective story is only as interesting as its narrative hook, and when you’re trying to work out a drunken brawl on a dock or find some paperwork hidden in an office, it can feel like a chore. These moments are genuinely chilling, and I found they often forced me as a player to take a second and wait for the sanity meter to recharge, so disorientating were the visions. Discover something truly creepy, or confront too many horrors, and you’ll start to hallucinate. However, I did enjoy the sanity mechanics. However, it’s not much compared to the elation I got with every successful identification in say, Return of the Obra Dinn, which uses very similar mechanics, and had me punching the air every time I successfully pulled key information together. There’s no hand holding here, so there are moments when you do feel genuinely smart for piecing something together. Reed’s occult-o-vision to go back and see what actually happened at a crime scene before looking about town for your next set of clues. Instead, you use private eye and player character Charles W. While it works in its portrayal of a 1920s detective game, the cases you’re solving are uninteresting, and often lack a key moment of cracking a case, no aha moment as your deduction causes everything to make sense. However, move away from this and The Sinking City doesn’t have too much to offer beyond a sinking feeling. Here, the streets are teeming with a variety of different characters, and they avoid the trap of making say, everyone with “the Innsmouth look” a villain, with many of the varied characters in The Sinking City actually confused and tired by the mass of “newcomers” that are making the pilgrimage to Oakmont after the floods started. So, any creative work based on Lovecraft’s needs to do a little bit of work to distance itself from his ideals. As a result, a lot of Lovecraft’s work focuses on white men in New England being beset by things that aren’t white men, with some thinly veiled racial jabs and a very unfortunately named cat. This seeped into his writing and everything “other” suddenly became bad. Lovecraft was, if we’re honest, a huge racist – even in the 1920s when this was something of an achievement because being just quite racist was the norm for America, where he lived. It also does a good job of subverting many of H.P Lovecraft’s problems. The atmosphere is subtle but effective, and I found that existing in this world started to feel oppressive and tense. Related: Crash Team Racing – Nitro-Fueled ReviewĮarly on, traipsing through a half-abandoned hotel, I picked my way through rooms littered with ravings daubed on the walls, and a room empty but for a burnt portrait hanging above the fireplace. Many of the inhabitants either can’t or won’t leave, as the city is slowly overcome by an unsettling pressure. There’s no reason any sane person would choose to loiter here, and as a result it’s a fascinating portrait of ruin. The half-submerged city of Oakmont is being torn apart by colossal storms while strange creatures, known as Wylebeasts, skitter and slime in the darkness. The Sinking City’s biggest success is the mood it creates. These references come in thick and fast, and they go a long way in establishing the world - and a tone - in the opening hours. Meeting a man clad in a yellow suit in the opening moments, you share a nod before soon after being introduced to Robert Throgmorten, who resembles Lovecraft’s own Arthur Jermyn in all but name. Indeed, fans of his work will find plenty of small references. The Sinking City seeks, primarily, to link up the gameplay of Frogwares’ own Sherlock Holmes franchise with the writings of acclaimed (and controversial) horror writer H.P Lovecraft, trying to play with the world of cosmic horror he created. It’s hard not to appreciate what The Sinking City, Frogwares’ latest detective-’em-up, has tried to achieve, even if it flubs the execution. 1/14/2024 0 Comments Freelancer mods single player![]() ![]() Option to ride out with cavalry to attack enemy villager parties and caravans for even more things to kill and loot and also for people who want to role play a cruel and greedy characterįaction and lord reputation gained by serving a particular faction and lord and designed to incentivize serving with the same faction and lord if the party you are serving in is destroyed. ![]() ![]() Option to lure bandits into an ambush to trick enemy bandits into engaging your party. Even the features that are present in both this mod and the 1.6.0 version of Freelancer have been modified to be better incorporated with the new features added to this mod. There are a bunch of new features added that didn’t exist in the 1.6.0 version of Freelancer and a bunch of features in the 1.6.0 version of freelancer that were not included in any way in this mod. The new name is to emphasize that this is a separate mod with different features and mechanics even if the overarching idea of serving as a soldier in a party is still the same. The previous name of “Freelancer Template” was just a placeholder name while I was adding in the core features and figuring out the overall direction of the mod. I have decided to change the name of this mod due to a lot of common misconceptions and incorrect assumptions that people have with that name.
