1/14/2024 0 Comments Street magic trick revealed![]() THink of all the tricks you have stashed in the back of your mind. If someone asked you to do as long a magic show as you could, doing every trick you can, I HOPE you can go one for a few hours. We as true students of the art have more of these tricks then you can ever think to perform. They, I'm pretty sure, realize the coin was just palmned, but I perform it well and by the time they think to glance at the correct hand, it already came out of thier ear. I'll been palming and pulling quarters from MANY peoples ears and they're amazed b/c I fool them everytime. Every magician should also have some simple trticks that are just skill. I have dozens and dozens of good ones and even fewer people are going to watch and remember multiple bad fox monday night specials. Granted none of the stuff I really use was revealed, but even if some of it does get revealed I have more then 1 trick. I drew a crowd fro mthe entire floor b/c of the special. He was still truely amazed and asked for more and more. As one of my roommate failed miserabley at the levitation he asked me to do some of my stuff and LOVED it. Those shows are partially responsible for MY interest in magic and I now pay my way through school doing shows. ![]() You were weren't you? and you knew how at least half of it was done! So what's really accomplised? Some people get some magic satisfaction (albeit not the kind we like them to have), BUT they also get more into magic. The ones who did were GLUED to the screen. First off, let's be honest: not that many people watch a bad fox special in the first place. I know you'll all hate me for this but I figured I'd post what I thought just so others know they aren't alone. Oddly enough I generally don't mind the secrets revealed shows. In my opinion, I don't think camera tricks have any business in a magic television show and this was a big, BIG topic of discussion from David Blaine's first television special. It was nice, however to see them expose Blaine's cheating using camera tricks. Like the Twisting Arm, it's a great "do anytime, anywhere" trick. The Balducci Levitation - Sorry to see this one go, too. Why don't we just pick up a pigeon and do it? Yuck. Tearing the Head Off a Live Dove - Yeah, this is a real practical "street magic" effect. Do Cornelius's Pen Thru Anything instead! Just don't do this near anyone with a pacemaker - you may kill him.Ĭigarette thru Quarter - Okay, that was a good one, but smoking is bad for you anyway. Psychokinetic Match - Chazpro might sell a lot of these things in the next few weeks. The Masked Magician used this incredibly complex (but neat) gizmo with remote controls and such. The Time Machine - This is a great trick, but I ( and most others) do it a completely different way. So what? Who else does this one except geeks and Blaine? I prefer Daley's Last Trick instead!īringing a Dead Fly to Life - Yeah, it was exposed. The Switch - Too convoluted a card trick for "street magic". Well, do it a different way, that's all! Unfortunately, the lay audiences will think of this method and think it's done that way anyway! (That's the real harm in these shows.) The Rising Cards - Another good commercial effect. This, like the Balducci Levitation, is a very good impromptu effect that kills. Shinkoh's Twisting Arm Illusion - I know that some magicians would really like to twist off his arm for showing this one. The Riffle Card Glimpse - Used a method that is easy, but it can be done better with another method. If you can perform this correctly, you shouldn't even worry about it. It's a shame this was exposed, but I don't think anything was lost. The Vanishing Coin - This used a device used by some magicians. The Ashes Trick - A great effect, but this one is already in many magic books and even on this site, Magic & Illusion. ![]() ![]() Here is from the about.magic article for the street magic:Ī List of the Tricks Exposed: (Some I won't explain or go into detail, for obvious reasons.) So there are back to back 'secrets revealed' episodes tonight? One for street magic and one for the ice block?
